This cafe’s building is a 100-year-old Ōyama community hall which was renovated in 2017. The Oki Islands’ unique culture and diet was born out of its inhabitants’ attempts to adapt to its environment, and the owner takes pride in serving meals with local ingredients that reflect this unique diet culture. Recommended dishes include: the “island rice plate” (shima-gohan pureeto) which is like a chef’s special made with seasonal and other ingredients mostly from the Oki Islands; and “island-raised free-range beef curry set” (hobokugyu-no-karee-setto), made using beef from freely grazing cows raised in the Oki Islands . Also, make sure to try their homemade sweets, baked on location by the owner.
Prior booking is required for lunch.
The cafe also runs a guesthouse.
